How we help

Four ways we support your family at home

Families across Northern Virginia turn to Millennium Home Health Care for four kinds of support. Start with the one that sounds most like yours.

Why families choose us

What families get when they call Millennium

Safety comes first

Every caregiver completes a criminal background check before entering your home, and a registered nurse supervises each case.

Care plans are personal

Your family's needs and schedule shape the plan from the first visit.

Qualified, credentialed staff

Training is matched to each caregiver's role, from personal care aides through registered nurses. Many caregivers speak Amharic, Tigrinya, Spanish or English, matched to your family whenever possible.

Peace of mind at home

Millennium is licensed by the Virginia Department of Health and enrolled as a Virginia Medicaid provider. Private pay and long-term care insurance are accepted as well.

Rooted in the community

Care in the language your parents speak

When someone is unwell, they often go back to speaking their first language. A caregiver who speaks that language, and understands the culture around food, fasting and family, makes each day easier for everyone.

Millennium was built by and for this community. We serve every family in Northern Virginia, and we make a point of matching caregivers by language and culture whenever we can.

  • Caregivers who speak Amharic, Tigrinya, Spanish and English
  • Meals cooked the way your family eats, including fasting days
  • Interpretation help on calls with doctors, Medicaid and health plans
  • Same care standards for every family we serve, whoever they are

Getting started

Three steps, and we handle the paperwork

1

Call or send a message

Tell us what is happening at home. A care coordinator will listen and answer your questions, in English or Amharic, with no pressure and no cost.

2

We visit and build a plan

We come to the home, meet your loved one, and write a care plan together: what help is needed, on which days, and who pays for it. We help you apply for Medicaid coverage if you do not have it yet.

3

Your caregiver starts

We match a caregiver by skill, language and personality, introduce them in person, and a nurse supervises the care. If the match is not right, we change it.

Virginia Medicaid consumer-directed care

You are already doing the work. You may be able to be paid for it.

Thousands of families in Northern Virginia care for a parent or spouse at home without any support at all. If your loved one qualifies for Virginia Medicaid’s CCC Plus Waiver, the consumer-directed option lets them choose their own attendant, and in many cases that attendant can be an adult child, a relative or a trusted friend, paid for those hours.

We will walk you through the screening, the paperwork and the training, at no charge, and tell you straight away if you do not qualify.

Paying for care

Most families pay less than they expect

Home care is often covered. Before you assume you cannot afford it, let us check what your loved one is entitled to.

Virginia Medicaid

We are an enrolled Virginia Medicaid provider. If your loved one qualifies for the CCC Plus Waiver, personal care and respite hours are typically covered with no bill to the family.

Private pay

Straightforward hourly rates with no long-term contract, whether you need four hours a week or full live-in support. Ask us for a written quote.

Long-term care insurance

We work with long-term care insurance policies and provide the visit records and invoices your insurer needs for reimbursement.
